"Laura Beatrice Marling (born 1 February 1990) is a folk singer-songwriter from Eversley in Hampshire, England. Initially prominent within the London folk scene, she has also toured with a number of well-known indie artists in the UK. Her sound is characterized by striking melodies and poetic lyricism." (Wikipedia)

Some of those well-known indie artists are bands like Noah And The Whale (just spotlighted!) and Mumford & Sons, whom I will definitely be spotlighting in the future. Absolutely fantastic.

"Oh the gods that he believes never fail to amaze me.
He believes in the love of his god of all things, but I find him wrapped up in all manner of sins.
The drugs that deceive him and the girls that believe him.
I can't control you I dont know you well, these are the reasons I think that you're ill."

"If I could wake up in a different place, at a different time, could I wake up as a different person?"

"At the time, my life just seemed too complete, and maybe we have to break everything to make something better out of ourselves."

- Chuck Palahniuk, Fight Club

"Noah and the Whale are a British Indie Folk band from Twickenham, London, England, formed in 2006"

...thanks Wikipedia.

If any of you are Indie radio listeners , you may recognize the song "Five Years Time" that hums with the nice verse of "there'll be sun, sun, sun, all over our bodies, and sun, sun, sun, all down our necks" which mellows any listener out into a state of summer bliss.

Also, while reading up on them (on the ever so reliable wikipedia) i found that "many of their MySpace blog posts, are signed 'Sic Transit Gloria'."
I just found it ironic because "Sic Transit Gloria Mundi" will be my first tattoo, and I was just looking up some good fonts. Another reason to love them. More on my future tattoo later.

Anyways, the song I wanted to advertise to all of you wonderful people is
"Rocks And Daggers"

"But there's no need to play with my heart"
I love it.

Looking around my ridiculously cluttered room, I constantly ask myself "Do I really need all this stuff?"
"Uh, No."
I have not touched most of this garbage in over a year. What use does it serve sitting in my room?

I am going to challenge myself.
By the end of summer, my room and bathroom will be filled with the bare essentials.

What am I hoping to ultimately gain from this?

Freedom.

"Most of the luxuries, and many of the so-called comforts of life, are not only not indispensable, but positive hindrances to the elevation of mankind. With respect to luxuries and comforts, the wisest have even lived a more simple and meager life than the poor." - Henry David Thoreau
